If your vehicle is due for an MOT test soon, you can bring it to us. We are an MOT test centre for cars (class 4). We ensure that your vehicle is compliant with all the mandatory requirements to clear the MOT test, so that you can stay road safe.

We will conduct an MOT test if your vehicle is over three years. We check for general safety and test to see how roadworthy your vehicle is. We also check for exhaust emissions, and the health of the engine as per the MOT guidelines

MOT Changes 2018

The MOT test changed on 20th May 2018, with new defect types, stricter rules for diesel car emissions and some vehicles over 40 years old becoming exempt.

Most common MOT failures

Alas, cars do fail MOT’s. However, the most common failures are fairly inexpensive repairs, which can be avoided. These are:

Bulbs – from sidelights to indicators, the most common problem and one of the cheapest to rectify
Brakes – low pads effect your braking and can be dangerous
Tyres – balding tyres are an immediate fail

Are you due an MOT?

Generally, vehicles over three years old are required by law to have an MOT. If you’re not sure when you MOT is due then head over to the official Gov.uk website and fill in your details!
